So, is there such a thing as a perfect circle?
Can a computer generate, or a human hand draw, a perfect circle?
Do they appear in nature?
Or is a perfect circle just a myth of the mind?
A friend and I were discussing it today and have not been able to answer it.

Now, for those of you that think I have no life, I am an eight grader. The friend I was speaking to is a senior. We are both extrememly smart and have no one else to challenge. Therefore, we use eachother. In all, I just think you're a pathetic loser if you must insult a little 13 year old for presenting question you can't wrap your mind around.

The circle is a mathematical concept. It is the set of points at a specific distance from another point, the center. It can't be drawn, by hand or by computer, since a point has no dimensions. A computer can be programmed to make an arbitrarily accurate representation of a circle.
They do appear in nature. A rainbow. The electric field around an isolated electron (a sphere). But even these are not purely a circle in the mathematical sense.

I would say that it is impossible to generate a perfect circle artificially by computer or by human hand, but I'm sure it is possible in nature. Computers pixels cannot be small enough to create a perfect circle, although it would come very close, and the human hand is only as good as the materials provided, and I do not believe that there are sophisticated enough tools to allow humans to draw a perfect circle. Perfect circles may be found in nature, but I'm sorry I do not know where they could be found if they are to be found at all. And now the question is: Do we really know what a "perfect circle" can be defined as? Knowing the definition of a perfect circle could, in fact, give you the answer right there!

In an x-y coordinate system, the circle with center (a, b) and radius r is the set of all points (x, y) such that
(x-a)^2 + (y-b)^2 = r^2 -----------^2=squared
Heres your perfect circle. Nothing is perfect but numbers.

Da Vinci was said to have been able to draw a perfect circle.
I would imagine a perfect circle can only be found in space. It would have to be in an area where gravity is the only force, thus creating a perfect sphere by itself.

On a perfect area, completely straight, by using dividers with constant radius you can draw a perfect circle.
try it!
You can also use computer but it will not be perfect circle because there will be limits due to pixels of your drawing!
