if they were would u stand to look at one seeing a half fish
to me they would not speak like humans their scream would be pain and their ture form will be the worst

kind of... there are some people born that their legs are attached all the way down to the ankle (very rare) and sometimes the doctors call them "mermaid babies" or "mermaid syndrome," but they're not the kind like you see in the movies. it's just a deformity, and they usually have a surgery on those babies, if possible, to seperate their legs so they can hopefully walk one day. they're not half fish and their screams are painful to hear...

The women of the sea that sailors really had to watch out for were the Sirens. Many of the truly ancient books have spoken of them and sailors even in the 20th century have said they heard the Siren's seductive songs.

No, mermaids aren't real, only the stuff of legend. Manatees (or sea cows) were confused for mermaids in the past, if I remember right.

physco. they could exist. but i doubt that there was...you know wait scratch that. in the best selling book of all the time, the Bible, it mentions that God created the Earth for man, not man mixed with horse, or fish or anyting else.

legend says that to look upon one is death ,sailors went in a trance from hearing them singing and wrecked their ships..
