i`m an american & i LUV oasis & have done since i 1st heard them more than 10 years ago...but then again, i`m a confirmed anglophile anyways!!! lol i might as well be british!!! seriously tho, i think people don`t understand the british humor & also the fact that oasis are sort of "crass", saying what they think & not caring & always mouthing off to the press...then there was the comment of them being better than the beatles, which rubbed a lot of people the wrong way as the beatles are heroes to so many people...in all honesty, i prefer more of the european bands to those from the u.s., i can`t hardly stand to listen to most of the stuff they come out with here...along with oasis, i like suede, blur, muse & a lot of the other bands that came out in the 90`s, as well as a fair share of the new ones, libertines, babyshambles, dirty pretty things, etc...

Americans don't hate Oasis per se, it's just that Oasis never made it big over here, not since the '90s, even though they've put out some decent stuff since then. (I quite like "Don't Believe The Truth" because it returns to their original sound, but some of the stuff between "What's the Story (Morning Glory)?" was just awful. "Be Here Now?" What was that about?)

Oasis isn't the right sound for America, which is dominated by hip-hop riffs and punk-like sounds. Good, modern, alternative rock doesn't do so well over here. It's a shame, but the mainstream rejects it. But I do know Americans who embrace Oasis.

What the hell does being American have to do with it? It's not like we all got together and arbitrarily decided to hate a band. If we could get together on anything, we wouldn't have elected half the clowns who have sat in the Oval Office. If you must single out a group, blame the Romans. De gustibus non est disputandum. If you want to know why as an individual I don't care for Oasis, it's because I don't find their sound the least bit original. Happy?

Americans don't hate Oasis. They were huge here at one time.

Hmmm....I'm an American. I have an Oasis cd. I've never listened to it. I don't have any feelings (love or hate) for the band. Does that help?

I don't think that Americans hate them at all...at least I haven't heard of anyone hating them. The only reason that I would be able to think of is that they aren't American...but, that's stupidity.

I am an American and I do dislike Oasis. They seem to have a unique talent of ripping off the Beatles....my nationality has nothing to do with it.

Don't blame us Americans, i think talented musicians in general have a dislike for them. Maybe i should have said "hated" , cause i've not heard anything outta them in years anyway....
