There really isn't a good way to do this. Well, there would be, if it was just a bare sheet of acrylic plastic, but there are delicate electronic components right behind it, so any of the solutions I could possibly offer would be highly inadvisable (mostly involving heat and/or chemicals). The best solution is to prevent them from happening at all by adding a screen protector right after opening the box. They're made from plastic that's not nearly rigid enough to serve as an iPod faceplate, but they are much more scratch-resistant.

I know, i hate them too.. but they probably won't come off.
