1/3 = 0.3333333333333
1/3(3) = 1
0.3333333333333(3) = 0.999999999999999999
Therefore, 0.99999999999 = 1
So 3/3 is equal to 0.9999999999999

And 1/3 = 0.333333333..., and 2/3 = 0.666666666 ...
Ana
EDIT
2/3 is not equals to 0.6666666666667. This is only a numerical approximation

It's true. Any number divided by itself is 1. Really, 1/3 is not .33333333, it'd have an infinite number of 3's. You can't put 1/3 into an exact decimal, same with 2/3. Only 3/3, which is 1.

1/3 actually equals 0.3 bar, the 3's continue forever. Same for the 6's in 2/3. 3/3 is simplified to 1, or 1.0 followed by infinite zeroes.

Because 2/3 = 0.666666667 not 0.666666666.
The last digit has to be rounded up to 7 since the real number go infinitely on with 6's. Then when you add 0.333333333 to it, you get 1.000000000.

It does. And 0.9999999... (forever) is equal to 1
check:
1 ?=? 0.999999999....
multiply both sides by 10
10 ?=? 9.9999999.....
subtract the first equation from the second:
9 ?=? 9
TRUE.
Therefore, our original equation was true.
1 is equal to 0.99999999....(forever)
