The wooden slats between the bed rails move and eventually fall out, causing the box springs and mattress to drop. It's driving me crazy.

If they are coming out because the side rails are springing out and the slats really are long enough, install a cable from one side rail to the other in the center of the bed that way it won't spring out anymore..

Been there, done that! Feel your frustration! You could get a drill and move the frame a little closer, that would give the slats less room to move, tighten them up. I always use 4 slats in my bed, the kids will jump on them the minute my head is turned. Make sure the frame is tight and make a couple slats go in like a 90 degree angle. Worked for me, been doing it many, many years now.

Cleat the boards.
Take a block of wood the same width as your support slat. with the slat in place on the frame mark where the edge of the frame is. screw or nail the block at that mark. Do this at both ends of the slat and for each slat

The slats rest on the lip of the rail. Drill one screw on each end of the slat to the lip of the rails. Problem solved...

Stop having wild sex, but if that's not going to happen then get the measurement of the frame exactly and cut the boards so they will fit tight. use 1"x6" 's and that should fix it. Good luck.

I would replace them with longer ones. Get a good measurement and cut your own. If they are tight, then they can't twist and fall out.

They are obviously not wide enough for your bed or they would not be doing that. I did have the same problem at one time and I sorta slanted them sideways to get them to work.
