Today, while driving uphill my car's engine started rev ving and wouldn't go. I got out and there was transmission fluid all over the road. I put a quart in, drove 1 mile and it did it again. There's no hole in my transmission pan or anything. What's up?

I agree with gearhead. This seems to be the most logical explanation, but don't forget to check your transmission lines running to your cooler/radiator. Look for any cracks/busts or loose lines. The thing is, if it was a line, it would probably visible all over your engine compartment. I honestly think it's time to replace your rear seal.

The rear seal on the driveshft may be bad.If you were going up a steep grade,all the tranny fluid would have shifted to the rear of the tranny where the seal is causing it to leak out if the seal was bad.Personally i have never seen a seal get so bad that it leaked like this but you may also want to check the rubber grommet that goes between your dipstick and transmission pan.

If you're losing that much you probably had a line to the cooler in the radiator come loose. If that's it, it's an easy fix. Like John said, don't go to someplace like Aamco. They'll tell you that you need a rebuilt transmission if you take it in for any reason.

transmission seal needs replacement,or lines needs checked for breaks,trans stick is not secure in trans.

did you check the trans cooling lines,they run from trans to lower part of radiator. or you may have trans cooler up around the radiator

Normally. is only a broken hose or pipe(tubing)flaring.
do not take it to tranny shop( they will say "rebuild"),take it to the general mechanic ,he will repair the broken hose.
