A lot of right-wing Christians like to point out how "violent" Muslims are.
So lets be fair, and see how peaceful Christians have been over, say, the last century:
World War 1: millions dead--all Christians killed by other Christians
Amristar, India, 1919: hundreds ofHindus (unarmed) gunned down--by Christians
Hundreds of blacks lynched in the Jim Crow South--all Christians murdered by Christiians
World War 2--millions of Christians killed--by other Christians (plus six million Jews--killed by Christians
and lest we think this all just history, don't forget the "ethnic cleansing" in the Balkans a few years ago--thousands of Muslims killed, women and children included--but they also systematically raped the Muslim women whil they were at it--all done by "Christians"
Don't you agree Christians are really peaceful?

Shrink. . .Every single thing I said is a historical fact you can verify in seconds. And I am not talking about terrorists--as far as I'm concerned the only good terrorist is a dead one.
I'm talking about anti-MUSLIM propaganda--delliberate bigotry against people who by and large are peaceful for the sole reason they don't happpen to share the belief system of some right-wing extremists who masquerade as "Christians"

You are absolutely right. I don't think Jesus, today's Christian's supposed leader would have apporved of all these wars. These wars were mainly fought by obedient kids who were simply following in the ways their parents raised them. I am trying to teach my son to think for himself and I also throw inthere a few comments now and then about how war is wrongand to only fight in self defense.
Just a little food for thought- Do you think that it is very fair that the U.S. has military bases all over the world but no other countries have any military bases on U.S. soil?? I ask people this question all the time and yet we still have lots of U.S. patriots. And now there is talk of going to war with Iran. Our government will not stop until there are no more people left who are willing to go and fight.

You forgot the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, and a myriad of others.
However, there have also been Christians who did a world of good. If you want to be fair, you have to keep them in mind as well.
The thing with religion is that it amplifies whats already in a person. A person who wants to help others and love everyone, when part of a religion, will interpret it their way and use it to spread love with even more passion. On the flip-side, if a person is full of hate is violent, when part of a religion, will interpret it their way and use it as an excuse to let out their anger and violence.
Its the same thing in most mainstream religions. It gives people excuses to do what they would do anyways, but with more passion. Its not limited to just Christians or Muslims.

Why don't you try comparing the last 40 years? And, focus not on warring militaries but on killing of innocents. Also, who came in to save the Muslims in Bosnia--more Christians.
Are you losing sleep thinking you will be attacked by Christians? If so, a doctor may be able to give you sleeping aids.

I'm fair to neochristians. When they stop trying to halt social progress and instead try to keep us in the dark ages - and when they stop supporting war and torture - I'll stop criticizing them. They call me an anti-christian bigot - I call them kooks who believe things that aren't true. I have the preponderance of the evidence on my side - they have faith. The truth will eventually win out.

We should be fair to everyone.
That means treating individuals as individuals, and not blaming them for the actions of others. Nor blaming entire groups just because a few fanatic members take illegal actions.
And it means holding groups accountable when the leaders of a group sanction such horrible activities.

Try looking at what REAL Christians have done for good instead of looking at the PRETEND Christians.
You obviously have NO clue that those who did those horrible things were not Christians but just USING the name, as has been done IN THE NAME of Christianity for centuries (like the Catholics have done).

many christians would hide behind the excuse that those were radicals
i on the other hand beleive that those who commited those acts used their religion as an excuse to perform such acts because if they were really christian then they would realize no matter how noble they think their cause the bible places murder in the ten commandments as a mortal sin

no religion is peaceful when taken to the extremes of thinking that they are superior to all others
lets face it, when someone kill someone else they dont think about their religion, sorry, thats life.

Peaceful? Other than Jesus, I don't think I can think of any Christians that are peaceful. Maybe peaceful toward each other but that's about it.
