Ouch! If you have an aloe vera plant like I do, you could cut the tip off a stem and put some of the juice on it, but it won't help the pain that much. I would look at Walmart's (or your nearest store) burn cream section, and compare the kinds they have. You can probably get a hydrocortisone cream, or maybe even a pain-relieving spray to put on it. The aloe vera would help to heal it and keep it from cracking or peeling. I burned my finger a month ago when baking cookies, and it is barely visible. I kept a band-aid on it with neosporin or whatever. Good luck. If it gets infected, stop refusing a hospital or you'll die. But yeah, you can probably do as much good yourself if you take care of it well.

It is a pretty bad burn if it is white. I think you should get it checked. But if your refuse, you must keep it in cool running water for a while, I suggest using an antibiotic cream like neosporin or bacitracin on it or burn cream and a clean sterile dressing. Aloe vera is great too.

Refuse to go to the hospital..thats pretty crazy...what charring indicates a third degree burn. You could get an infection in your hand and end up losing it. Not sure a fear of hospitals is worth that. Maybe you should look and see what gangreen looks like.

You can find some anesthetic creme at the drugstore. Aspirin or Advil will help. Watch it closely. If it starts getting red or swollen, or lines start appearing running up your hand it's infected and you can't put off going to the doctor anymore. Blood poisoning can cost you an arm.
