I think that neither one will end up in the world series. Both had issues with pitching last year and while Yankees tried to improve their pitching (signing Pettitte and Igawa), neither has the pitching needed this year. The only way the Mets make the WS is if Pedro comes back from injury and imeadiatly pitches like it is 1999 and they score 6 runs a game. Any team depending on "El Duque" to be a solid #2 is in for a long year and a short postseason. The Yankees also have too many injuries to contend this year. Wang is already on the DL and Carl Pavano hasn't had 30 starts since 2004. If you are going to bet on who will make the WS, go with the Angles and the Phillies.

That depends...
You have to remember the mets and the yankees will have a different team on the field come september and october than they have now.
If the yankees get roger clemens(clemens, petite, wang, mussina, pavano and Mariano Riviera) They will have a very tough rotation and one of the best offenses in the league.. So they would be the clear cut heavyweight.
As for the mets... They need a couple of things. Went Duaner Sanchez went down. that hurt. So they need atleast 1 more right handed reliever. Also, Pedro is hurt and outside of Tom Glavine, the pitching on the mets is suspect and unproven with young guns. I honestly believe if the mets trade for 1 superstar pitcher like a dontrelle willis or a jake peavy they will have a strong shot.
Honestly... Its gonna come down to the tradeline. And whoever pulls off the best trades will win it all.
Last note: If roger clemens goes to Boston(dice k, schilling, beckett, papelbon and others, then all bets are off)

It will be Cubs against Tigers in the World Series, unless of course, the Cubs are injury plagued again (hopefully not), then it would either be the Mets or the Diamondbacks. But I'm sure that an NL team will win the World Series this year.

Neither. The Yankees are much too old to be considered real contenders, and will start to fizzle come September and October. The Mets can put up a lot of runs and will win the NL East, but they made no improvements on their pitching season this offseason, which will come back to haunt them. I think if the Mets had a more solid rotation they would have beaten the Cardinals in the NLCS. My picks are the Cubs to win the NL (revitalized offense and a much improved pitching staff) and the Red Sox to win the AL with the Cubs beating Boston in 7.
