by the way the reason for the first c section was because my son was breech and never turned otherwise I would've most likely been able to deliver vaginally

I had a cesarean with my son who is now 7 (only dilated to 6-7 with him after 24 hrs of labor). 21 Months later I had my daughter VBAC and am due any day with my third which I will also deliver vaginally. I would encourage you to at least try and deliver vaginally. Cesareans are miserable. The healing time for a vaginal deliver is nothing compared to that of a cesarean. If your doctor thinks it is in your best interest to a have another c-section, they will let you know,,,Good Luck

I considered VBAC, but ultimately decided for a repeat c-section. My first c-section was an emergency c-section when my induction didn't work (son's heartrate went down really low while on pitocin and my doc had already broken my water). My son was born 1 day after due date and was 8lbs 14oz.
Up until about a year before my second baby was born the hospital and my doctor didn't do VBACs so I had never really considered it as an option. When I found out that they had changed their policy my husband and I talked about it, but ultimately decided not to.
Some of the reasons we decided not to were:
I never had a really strong desire to give birth vaginally (as I've heard that some women do)
I healed really quickly from the first c-section so I didn't dread the recovery the second time
The ability to choose the day the baby was born
I think that its good that you're exploring all your options, and I'm sure that you'll ultimately decide what is right for you.

I had a c-section 4 years ago for failure to progress. I am pregnant with our second son and only considered VBAC for about a minute before deciding to have a scheduled C-section. Who is to say...that I could labor all those hours again and not be able to have a vaginal delivery. I honestly dont think I can. My mother had 5 c-sections, cause her pelvic bones were to small to fit a baby through. I think I may be the exact same way. Thats just my experience sorry I can't be of more help on the VBAC.

I know this really isn't exactly what you were asking, but I had a horrible first delivery (vaginal) that resulted in several operations afterward, and so my c-section recovery from my second ended up being less than half the time it took from my other one.
I know everyone is different, and most people do really well with vaginal deliveries, and vbacs are popular for a reason. But I would really talk this over seriously with your doctor and ask their opinion. I'm sure they've seen more than most of us have, and they should be forthright with their opinions.

Vaginal Birth After Cesarean. Yes, I know what this is. I've never had one, but I know they can be very successful nowadays, but also very dangerous and usually fatal to you and the baby should something go wrong. This is absolutely your decision and your doctor cannot tell you no on the matter. BUT, talk to your doctor in depth about this and get all the information. Research it on the internet. Buy books about it. I imagine after 8 years, the scar should be healed enough not to rip open during delivery. Good luck whatever you choose, but please do your research before you decide. Also, talk to your doctor about the special diet for women who choose to have a VBAC. This is to ensure your baby doesn't get very large, which can ultimately cause complications during delivery.

the best advice I have regarding VBAC is get a midwife!!
they will give all the information you need
and they will be your greatest support in the hospital ...... I was going to have one with my second child but decided against it when I woke up in severe pain that was not labour.... I decided to get the second c section as I did not want to go through that pain again ( the source of the pain was not discovered) or the fear again... during the pain that woke me up from a sound sleep, I could not feel my youngest daughter moving and that freaked me into a second c section.
Even with that decision, my midwife was a wonderful support in the hospital. Good luck

more than likely is you had to have a c-section with a 7 pound 5 oz baby, you will have to have another one just because of your size. that is not a large baby at all. but you never know.
