My laptop is no longer recognizing my cd-rom drive. I tried to make a cd, and then itunes told me "disc burner or software not found." Now, I've come to find that any cd I put in isn't recognized. I dont' want to have to crash my computer, so any advice would be great.

i had a desktop that once quit recognizing my cds. I took it to have someone see what was wrong with it, because even though you could hear the drive working, it did not recognize any disks. I don't remeber the tech language, but if the same thing is wrong with it that was with mine, then you will have to get the drive removed and replaced. Don't worry, your hard drive will not be affected and you won't lose data. It cost about 75 bucks.
Hope this helps.
