ryan..how old are you? you are speaking to someone with a degree in world history. so that you know the party lines in those days were REVERSED..and it changed int he 50'S..so...really it was a republican.

And the saga continues, he gets a funding bill and refuses it because it isn't worded the way he wants it. The troops go hungry, and the Dem's get the blame, only I hope most of the people in the country know who to blame. .

You say you have a degree in history???? I honestly do not believe that one. I do not understand how people can blame the Dem's or repubs at all. The blame if there is any is on us. We are the ones that voted for our politicians and not just in DC either. Your local politicians are most likely one day trying to be in DC. Start at home and make it better for all of us.
Rather strange that there was so much hatred to Bush and yet he was elected the second time with a very wide margin. Where were you democrats that day, most likely sitting in fro mt of the TV drinking the Bud.
Seems like no one liked Ronnie either but his second term was won by a very wide margin.
I was not old enough to vote but I do remember when the democrats fooled all and voted for a great man. In 1948 no one would have given HS Truman a chance at all of winning the election. With the help of a lot of republicans Truman won by a very large mandate.
Stop blaming everyone and start doing something.

Much as I'd like to lay this at the feet of the republicans, the truth is that we've meddled in Iranian affairs since the end of WWII. Not only did every administration since Truman sell them weapons, we've interfered using "advisors" and CIA operatives.
We created a lot of the problems in the middle east (and, no, not just the US) and now they are coming home to roost. What is perhaps, more amazing is that the Russians, who live within handy missile range, persist in allowing a radical regime to proceed with nuclear weapons development.
History will tell if the Russians are making the same mistake we did.
