The Pantheon in Rome, a temple built in AD 125 to all Roman gods.
The Parthenon temple was completed in BC 432.

By 120 AD, Hadrian began designing a Pantheon reminiscent of Greek temples and far more elaborate than anything Rome had yet seen. So the Parthenon and temples of the like were inspiration for the pantheon which was built 557 years later.

The Pantheon of Rome is devoted to all the Roman Gods, however, I believe the Parthenon of Greece is devoted only to the Goddess Athena for which the city was named after. In Greek mythology, Posioden and Athena competed for you would be the God of the great city of Attica Arcania. The god of the sea offered year-round urchin harvests, calm waters, protection from attacking fleets, and productive fishing. Athena offered her famous olive trees and olive oils, stronger warriors, wisdom, and blessed weaving. The Arcanians were left to choose amung them.

They chose Athena to be their patron goddess, and the city was called Athens from that point and on. In her honor, they built the Parthanon, which was in honor of the goddess Athena.

An interesting tidbit about the pantheon- The original design for the dome was to take an arch and spin it 360 degrees. However, the engineers later discovered that the structure was unstable. So they realized that they had to add the hole at the peak of the dome (called the oculus) which acts as the keystone in the arch for the dome. The also added heavy bands on the outside of the structure to support the base of the dome.
