Actions speak louder than words. I usually start things off with a nice drop kick to the head.

Just start by saying something like this: Isn't there something you need/should tell me? (friend)says: "nahhh.."i don't know what you mean. You: well, I'm missing something and somehow believe you have it. Friend: Like what?
It could go a bit like this, back and forth, just be persistent, try to be calm (if possible). Usually, once the conversation beginns, the rest sort of takes a life on its own. You can do it, hope this helps!

Dangerous. You can get another thing but not another life. If the things mean that much take her to court. I almost hurt someone that borrow $20 and never paid it back and had no attention of paying it back. Thank God, that was a warning and it could have been worst. You are probably to friendly and people take you for granted. Growing up.

If you are absolutely sure that person stole from you then just say, "I know you have it and I want it back."
If you think they possibly took it by mistake, say, "I think you have my ......., I'll be needing that back. Could you get it for me?"
If you are not absoluely sure they have it, say, "I can't seem to find my..... do you have it?"
If you know they have it and they actually stole it from you, then why worry about their feelings? That person is a thief and the worst kind: one who steels from their own friends. You'd be better off without that person in your life.

You have to be direct and look them in the eye like you are staring through them. The more confidence you exude the more likely it is to make them nervous and fidgety. Say look dude I know you stole my (whatever it is) and I want it back right now.

Confront them head on, tell them what was stolen and that you want it back. Don't get violent, but be forceful about it. If the item is valuable, and they just won't return it, get the cops involved.

I will say it in a very discrete way like: You know I used to have a ------ just like that and I lost it or somebody borrowed it, where did you get yours? If the person is honest, will tell you: You know what I think I forgot to return it to you, here. Thanks!
There, problem solved. JA, JA, JA.
Try it and let me know what happens. D.G.

The best thing to do is to give them the opportunity to return it with no hard feelings, but make it clear that if you don't get it, NOW, they are out of your life.
When you see him, say, "Somehow, you've got my ________. I don't care if you borrowed it and forgot, whatever. I need it back NOW.
Then, if he gives it back, be cordial but distant; never trust him again. If he protests, restate your position and say also, "You're holding stuff that's not yours. It's mine. You don't care about your reputation? I won't mention it again, but I won't speak to you either."
And be sure to follow through.

make sure that your positive that they took it.......then casually bring it up......like.... "listen to this...i was getting ready for work and i went to put on my makeup and my favorite lipstick was gone and i have been looking all over for it have you seen it?" then when they say "no" respond by saying something like this "well i am going to look over here you check over there between the two of us we are bound to find it maybe you'll see it somewhere i had overlooked"
