I assume you're asking if it's acceptable for men. I believe that it is becoming more and more acceptable, with the exception of very old fashioned professions like an attorney, banker or a doctor. There would probably be times that you would be interviewing for any job, with some old fashioned person who hated long hair and they might feel that they didn't want to hire a man with long hair but I believe that wouldn't be most people.
Even in the old fashioned professions I think you could become very successful with long hair but I think you would have to be highly skilled and it would take you longer than if you went with the more accepted look.
Just please, please don't wear it in a ponytail all the time. For both men and women, wearing your long hair in a ponytail all the time is a copout. If you want to have long hair, take care of it and style it - it's a lot of work but that's what long hair is.

Unfortunately, it DOES depend on the profession. Generally, however, long hair just isn't professional-looking, especially at an interview. It shouldn't matter, but it does - just like clothes, makeup, weight, and a host of other things. Do yourself a favor; keep it short until you have gotten the job you want and have become known for what you do; then you can wear it just about any way you like and get away with it.

I think long hair is wonderful. And I think it is acceptable professionally. It depends on the hair style though. Try going to www.hairboutique.com. Good luck!

As long as it's clean, well-styled, and a color that occurs in nature - not a Crayola box, it's fine. You don't want big 80s hair or hair that falls in your face all the time, but that's why there's things like barrettes and clips!

It definatly depends on the company you work for. If you keep yourself clean and your hair is kept nice and not scruffy then I think it is fine. I am in management and it wouldn't deter me from hiring a qualified person.

Long hair could be acceptable if you keep it neat and tidy.
Pulling it back away from your face also makes it look a little more professional. :)

As long as you keep it clean and styled, I think it can look very professional and not hinder your career in any way.
Plus, I love long hair on guys--I wish they'd all grow it out.
