They won't fight, but the goldfsh and betta have totally different temperature needs and don't make very good tank mates because of it. Better to keep the betta in a heated aquarium.

Where i work we keep bettas in with several different types of fish and have had no problems, they generally only show aggression to their own type and leave other fish alone,
bear in mind however, that bettas are tropical fish and goldfish are cold water fish and so require completely different living conditions. although the betta is really hardy and can survive in anything it might not go so well in the cold water. just keep an eye on it and see how it goes.

They can live together but better if separate. The goldfish require cooler water and are quicker than bettas,so bettas might not get food. One male betta can live for a while with goldfish, but no guarantee how long.

it is not a good idea to put goldfish with bettas. Eventually the goldfish will kill the betta or vice versa. Also bettas need warm water 75-80 and goldfish need cool water mid 60's.

No they won't fight. Second of all, bettas are tropical fish and need to be in water of 78 to 80 degrees. Goldfish need colder water. You should get seperate tanks for them. And a heater for the betta

first off...goldfish are COLD water fish,
Betta's are tropical, WARM water fish.
secondly, gold fish produce high levels of ammonia that are terribly toxic to the Siamese fighting fish.
Then there's the diet requirements which are totally different for each of these two species.
These two need to be kept in two separate environments, ask any knowledgeable pet store !

I had a betta and 3 large (8 inch long) goldfish I put together. They did ok for one week, and then I woke up one morning and the betta killed all of the goldfish overnight. He butted into them and forced their gills above water, basically he suffocated all of them.

I wouldn't chance it unless you are ok with the possibility of dead goldfish- it all depends on how manly your betta thinks he is. If it is a female, they do fine with other fish.

i actually had a betta in a tank full of other fish and he lived for over a year...betta's tend to just fight with other betta's and its not so much a fight when it happens as fins go flying and its like a stress match...one shows its the stronger of the two..and in our case the weaker one got sick so i had to flush him
