I've narrowed it down to:

Dune
Ringworld
Journey to the Center of the Earth

I'm leaning towards Journey to the Center of the Earth, but what's your input?

I'm definitely leaning more towards Dune. I like the way it just puts you in a whole other universe. The characters are wonderful, but so is the world and the concepts. I love books that I can really get lost in like that.
Though I've never heard of Ringworld...and Journey to the Center of the Earth didn't draw me in like Dune did.

Blessings!

Depends on what you like. Dune is my pick, as the most awesome story. As science fiction goes, it is heavy on the political and cultural side, while Ringworld is more classic hard SF. Journey to the Center of the Earth is a pretty good adventure, but its Victorian origins may make it seem a bit quaint.

You eliminated some great books - Journey to the Center of the Earth is certainly a good one and a classic. Personally I would kick it up a notch and go into the realm of cyberpunk and read Neuromancer, but Journey is a good choice. Pax - C.

Larry Niven's Ringworld is a solid read. Good characters and a plot worth the effort.

Ever wonder who the developers of Halo ripped off for that ring shaped world?

Oh, and don't pass on works by David Brin and Greg Bear.

Blood Music and Earth are fine titles to consider.

From your selection I'd say Dune. Another classic is Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick (the movie Blade Runner was based on it). It's closer to cyberpunk than sci-fi, though. Talking about which, you should also check out Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. Completely mind-blowing.
