I came off the pill last month and I haven't had a period since around Feb 26. I am still waiting. I have been off the pill before and got my period immediately but this time, nothing. Is it really possible to get pregnant this quick? I almost would feel a little bummed if it happened this quickly with out 'trying'

The same thing happened to me. Although I went off the pill in December, and my last period started on Dec. 25th. I never got my period, took pregnancy tests, and finally went to the doctor on Feb. 20th.

He prescribed progesterone which basically shed my lining. Then had me go in for day 3 blood tests. Everything seemed okay, although your LH and FSH should be around the same levels during the beginning of your cycle. My LH levels were elevated since I had not ovulated.

My doctor thought that I may have PCOS. (I really have no other sympoms besides the period thing and LH levels.)

I'm going to do one of two things:
My cycle may regulate itself (I think I ovulated this month due to charting BBT and noting cervical mucas!) If this is the case I will be very happy. They say that it takes up to three months for the hormones to leave your system.

Otherwise: he's going to try me on Medformin, which is actually a diabetic medicine which is linked to regulating ovulation. If I don't get pregnant on this he will add clomid to the mix.

I would suggest the following:
-You could wait a week or two and if you don't get a period see a doctor. They may have you go in for blood tests.

-Buy a BBT and look into checking signs for ovulation. I just started doing this and it's wonderful way to see if I'm actually ovulating! (We'll see if it worked soon=)

-Did you have irregular periods before BC? If so it will go back to being irregular unfortunately.

I hope this info. helped!

I'm in the same boat as you, came off the pill and expected my period Feb 26. I haven't had mine either... I am TTC too.
I hear conflicting stories that it can take longer to get pregnant when you come off the pill and then I hear that you are more likley to get pregnant the month you are off it.

I have been doing HPT to find out. I'm a bit of an obsesive tester and have been testing any where between 3 days and a week, so far I have had 3 faint positives (inc. 1 this morning) and the others have been neg. It might be worth you going to the dr. and asking for a blood test. but try a urine test first. I'm really curious in knowing how you go with this, feel free to let me know if you like :)

Good luck!

Take care

It could be either scenario. Your body might react differently to coming off the pill this time. Or you could be pregnant (it's even possible to become pregnant while still on the pill). Only a test will tell.

Please, don't ever be "bummed" at the possibility of conceiving a baby! It's a wonderful thing that you are fertile and can bring life into the world.

Last year in Jan. my doc took me off the pill because of blood pressure. I did the same, I had a period in Feb and then noticed I was a couple of days late in March. Then I took a pregnancy test and needless to say I have a beautiful baby boy now! I was completely shocked when I found out, but everything turned out great. I would go get a pregnancy test to check. . .rather be safe than sorry!

I have personal experience with it happening that quick! Within a month of beingoff the pill I was pregnant with my 2nd son. Just remember everything happens for a reason!!!

Yes, it can happen that fast, but your body could also be trying to get back on it's own cycle since you stopped taking the BC. Take a test or see your doctor before your freak yourself out!

it's possible. but you're probably stressing yourself out thinking about it, which could delay a period. if you really think your pregnant take a test, it's only a couple bucks. it took my friend 3 mos for her period to start after getting off birth control.

you should take a pregnancy test. many women experience heightened fertility right after coming off the pill.

go see a Medical Doctor, take a pregnancy test, get checked out regardless if you are or not. Do not take chances with your health, that's the only body you'll ever have.
