Why don't 20 year old plus men understand their home furnishings are just as important as their dress?

everyone in public sees your dress
only a very select few that you let into your home
see the home furnishings
most people at work will never see that part.
most people you know will never enter your home
it influences a different (smaller) group.
like your girlfriend and close friends
people may not be as worried about those folks' opininon of them
