That is very possible.
The capture and public display such as is being done of 15 soldiers might not be good for Iran either.
How about a single well-placed cruise missile for a start - totally as a warning you understand. Or maybe just send in a couple of destroyers and take a few Iranian sailors who are in Iraqi waters.

Iran is the bully on the block that will run for cover if the major powers collect the guts to give them an ultimatum. I am tired of pacification of bullies. Instead someone needs to kick some butt and make them understand trying to bully the big boys will not work. Iran is counting on the liberal media to protect them along with the big money they are throwing at France,Russia and China. It would be better to take them out now than wait until things get even more complicated by them using missiles Russia and China are selling to attack us.

ST: A foreign power invading a sovereign neighbor's territory and kidnapping 15 people under force of arms isn't top news?
What sort of news do you think it would be if the United States sent a platoon of Infantry into Manitoba and kidnapped 15 Canadian soldiers and then held them, forcing them to make publicity stunt broadcasts? S'pose that might make the news here or there? Or would it just be 'Eh! No big deal, eh?'

this question is not about numbers, i hope. nothing is happening, nothing will happen --until the media stops bringing this issue as the top news. a country took away 15 non-residents --pitiful but nevertheless a small diplomatic incident. it does not merit top news -- despite the fact that UK vs. Iran are involved. intelligent calculated reasoning vs. madness -- what else to add up to the scenario. hope it helps.
