last time i order a movie pay per view and my phone jack was not connected i wasent charge until my directtv got messed up and i had to called a technician.

you will still be able to order PPV with the dial tone disconnected from your reciver with the remote.. you will only be able to order 3 or 4 PPV before the card is full, and then you will have to call DTV, go to there website to order PPV. The PPV that you order with the remote, with out the dial tone being connected will not be billed untill you reconnect the dial tone to the reciver and it is able to call in and send that information to them.
I never had my DTV recivers connected to dial tone when I had them.. and I had 2 recivers with maxed out PPV on there card.. and I just called them to order PPV, there was never any problems..
