I have polyester fiber and I asked Stanley Steamer to clean it and they wouldn't touch it. They said it has to be cleaned with a dry Chemical. I think there is a company that is called Dry Chem.

Yes, I don't think it will hurt it. After you have it clean and very dry, you may want to use Scotch Guard to prevent it from getting dirty easily.

verify makes an all fabric spray you need to use. examine the guidelines. it is how i might do it. i might vacuum the settee. i might fill a bucket with heat water. i might use a microfiber textile. i might spray portion of the settee with the verify, moist and ring out the rag, wipe off the verify. Rinse the rag and do yet another portion of the settee and repeat till all the settee has been wiped clean. verify you are not getting the cloth very moist as you do the cleansing.

I steam cleaned mine, they are fine. I suggest you test a spot and do scotch guard them after.
