EXACTLY, thank you mate! good brilliant question. The reason the terrorists even with help from democrats have still failed to mount a serious attack on US soil since 9/11 is because we took the fight to them on their ground, be it IRAQ or AFGHANISTAN, better to fight them there than have poor Mr and Mrs Joe snuffy US Civilian being killed at home.

strattz ,YES IRAQ is part of the WAR on terror, how else do you explain why is AL-Q there if its not, people wake up, by fighting Terrorists in Iraq you avoid having to do it on US Soil, its so simple even a Democrat should grasp the logic, but I guess its asking too much really.

Well, since Bush did absolutely nothing to fight the terrorists in the 1st 8 months of his Presidency, until the terrorists finally "woke him up" with 9/11, anything that he did after 9/11 was going to be a major upgrade in securing the US from any future terrorists attacks (all of which have been stopped by US & Foreign intelligence agencies NOT the US Military). However by "taking the fight to the terrorists" in Iraq he created terrorists training ground for many new terrorists, the exact thing that he said he was trying to prevent by invading Iraq.

With 11 million illegals walking around in this country, homeland security is a joke. Besides terrorists, we now have the most violent gangs in this country. If you feel safe, you must live in a gated community like the politicians who never really have to get out among the people except to make their idle promises to get elected. Terrorists are very patient and plans are made years in advance..
You also forget that we now have as many Americans dead in Iraq as the terrorists killed in 9/11, and thousands more will never be the same with legs, and arms lost and severe head wounds. This country now has thousands more whose lives have been destroyed. The terrorists didn't need to do more with Bush in charge.
That doesn't address the 2 million innocent Iraq's, those we were supposed to be helping, who have been displaced and killed by this war. Let's not forget the terrorists did not come from Iraq but from Cheney's friends the Saudis. Is this how we spread democracy?
Ask yourself who has profited from this war? Not the American people who are billions of dollars in debt and thousands of lives destroyed. Not the Iraq's who have lost their doctors, scientists, technical people and have their country destroyed. The answer is Haliburton and other no bid contract companies tied to this administration.

1) This is an oversimplification. The terrorists seem more intent on attacking the WTO than the USA. Which they see to be a Zionist organization.
2) Muslims in the USA for the most part do not agree with the terrorists. Therefore terrorists can not garner the support needed to carry out their plans in the USA. Muslims who are US citizens and love peace are probably our best allies.

Yes it is because we took the fight to them. Clinton did nothing about the 1993 bombing of the world trade center. He also did nothing about the attacks on the USS Cole. Thank God we finally have a president who will stand up to the terrorists!

Do you realize that if George Bush had not been handed the presidency on a silver platter, we would still have those two towers? That was a retalitory strike against that family.(Bush). Who knows what they, the Bush family, done to bring this wrath to our country, but it is time for them pay for what they have cost this once great nation. This is capitalist country and as long as the Bushes make sure that the corporations that run everything are happy, they can do what they want. There is no excuse for what the oil companies are doing yet they keep inventing new ones for raising prices. Get this. Higher demand makes prices go up. In our economy, higher demand makes prices goes down. TV's, VCR's, DVD's. Get the point. So don't defend those mega-rich self serving no matter what happens to the rest of us sob's.

To put it simply - only the most organised could have ever attacked the USA mainland. It's too difficult to get hazardous materials into that country.

GWB has "taken the war to them" - well yes and no. he just stepped it up a notch. Clinton took some measures i.e. bombed Iraq, and the balkans.... but really the terrorism has "slowed" in the Western world simply because we've all just stood up and said SOD OFF... wwe've also introduced laws to send them to a hell hole in the Carribean and threatened to mass slaughter their native lands if they attack us... so all in all we just stepped up our responses from pi$$ weak to somewhat stronger....

Iraq had nothing to do with the 911 or the fight against terrorist. In addition; how do we know that terrorist attacks haven't been announced to the American public. Remember the decline of business lost revenues right after 911. American citizens were too afraid to venture to the Malls, Theaters, and other public venues.

Because they are in a terrorist training camp/shooting gallery attacking Americans everyday in Afghanistan and Iraq. Good thing Bush decided to take the fight to them, I mean we could hardly sustain anymore of his lax security which allowed 9/11 in the first place.

They will, they will. They take years to plan and carry out their business. Bush didn't take the war to the terrorists. He took it to Iraq which had no involvement in terrorism. Don't you read, even Bush has finally admitted that. Now we are there because Saddam needed to be dethroned. Now the Iraqi people have no running water, no electricity, no health care, no safety, no education etc. But Bush and his cronies are soooo much richer. And thousands of Americans are dead. And tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi men, women and children are dead and hundreds of thousands homeless.
