sounds like a flip of the coin. myself i would bring this situation to God and ask for his opinion. doing taxes can be very very boring, however they do make big bucks. if you can live and do what you love to do then do it. no one is going to want to listen to a homeless music producer. sounds like your heart is in music. if you can survive without money if it comes to that then do it. if going 6 months without any money means your goign t become homeless and have no one to help you when things are tight, then stick with accounting.
go to school for beign a music producer with a couple classes in accounting. if music producer doesnt work out then go back to school for accounting. sounds like music is in your heart. i would go for it and like i stated earlyier if you fail at that then go back tgo school for accounting. unless money is going to mean being homeless or or making a decent living.

Guess what, you can actually become both. It's just a choice on focusing which career to take fulltime.
Being in the music production industry -- or any industry for that matter -- would entail knowledge of numbers. If you choose to become a music producer and manage your own company full-time, you can definitely make use of your accounting skills to make sure that your company is earning enough to make you happy and secure. Accounting will help you predict your market and where the company is going, thereby allowing you to make profits for your music company.
On the other hand, if you choose to be an accountant in a firm, you will be able to earn enough money to fund your passions -- which is music. Being a music producer will not require you to work full time in such a job. You can do the producing in your freetime or during weekends, and once you launch your album and people do buy it, then you'd be successful in both careers.

It's important to choose not only a career that you will have for a long while and something that you know you wont be bored of.
I, myself, am studying to become and Arts/Egnlish teacher and I know I will not make as much money as any other job would, but I am following my heart and following my dreams.
Let your dreams be your guidance, let your heart take you to the right road.
Do you think that this career as an accountant will be as interesting as a music producing career? (Or vice versa)
Do you think it is worth it more to have money then to be happy?
What do you treasure most out of life?
As yourself questions...

Accountant. And be a good one. Then you can can acquire the capital necessary to play the music market.
Success in the music industry is as risky as the lotto and has a very bad income distribution problem.
I am self-employed, doing my little humble trade at a master craftsman level, and I regret not being better versed in accounting.
Accounting is not as glamorous as the music industry, but accounting is critical to modern civilization and there would be no music business without it.

Why not both? Start off as the accountant if you feel that is the safe bet and then you will have the money to produce music as well. Don't limit yourself!

Go with where your heart is, god gave you your talents and you need to go with that. Sure you could become an accountant, but would you be happy. Be sure to do what your heart desires not what makes the money, because if you follow your heart then, your happyness doing your job will produce the kind of income you desire as well.

Why not do both? these days people often have more than one career. There are many opportunities in the music business...even for accountants! Those stars need people to help keep their finances together... so go for the "security" AND your dreams!

Go to college and get a business degree - this way you can do either, or something else if you want. A business degree can take you pretty much anywhere - even to a record company.

Accounting is safe. But it's also boring. Same old thing, month in, month out. (Or at least, that's what they tell me.)
Producer is risky.
Which one will fulfill your dreams? That's what you have to do.
