Did you know that someone in U.S.A. needs blood every 2 seconds? Did you know that less than 5% of eligible donors in U.S.A. actually give? Did you know that with one donation, you can save up to 3 lives?
Are you feeling guilty yet?

It's completely understandable if you are not eligible to give. But people who are simply scared to give have no excuse. (I hate being stuck with needles, but that doesn't stop me. :D)

Less than 6% of first-time donors will ever give again. :(

You are so right. I have given blood and my thing is that I just don't give it enough thought. I think next week I will seriously make an effort to do so. Thanks for the reminder.

I was a blood donor for about 10 years. Now I have a health problem and I'm not allowed to give.

I have an extreme irrational fear of needles. I know. It's crazy. You can wave a gun ro knife n my face and I know exactly what to do. Show a needle to me and I nearly repell and cringe.
And no; I don't feel guilty. I do have exceptions, like 9/11 at the Reunion Arena in Dallas. Not to the fear but rather the action or in this case inaction.

No I don't feel guilty at all. I gave blood once and I was sick for the rest of that day and the next. I don't think I'll do it again. That experience kinda turned me off from donating.

No, I don't give blood because it is a personal choice and that is my right. I don't think I should feel guilty about it or made to feel bad. I give to charity and donate my time to other causes that are just as worthy.

Not me Anne. Thank you for your question. I've been a regular blood doner for over 45 years. I wish more people understood how important it is to donate blood. Maybe if they knew that it actually is good for your own body to donate. Thank you Anne.

No, I have a clotting disorder, but I have had 3 transfusions before and was thankful that someone cared enough to donate.

Gave my 120th pint last month. That's 15 gallons over 25 years.

I do four times a year and have been for 30 years. I have iron overload so it's actually good for me, but I would do it anyway.
