9/11 was bad, but it happened almost 4 years ago, and NOTHING has happened since. In the UK, Russia, India, Spain, Italy, Greece and many other countries, there has been and still is a far greater threat of some kind of terrorist act, yet (apart from lapdog Blair) none has declared a 'war on terror'.

My god, you people have been brainwashed worse than I thought. That Genius George Bush has managed to thwart all the evildoing terrorists, has he? Yeah. OK.

By the way, how can you PROVE any attacks were foiled? Do you really trust your government/media THAT much?? In Britain, any time the police report a foiled attack, amazingly, after the initial media frenzy, no charges usually ever laid.

It's all a bunch of bullsh*t, as you no doubt well know. Remember, Orwell said that a covertly fascist government would have to keep it's people constantly focused on a perceived outside enemy, so they would remain either distracted or compliant from the threats from within. And that's exactly where we are now. the occasional terrorist "threat" is inevitable for any country, but they are much rarer than the Bush administration and the media would have us believe. However, we're certainly brainwashed by fear enough to tolerate vanishing civil liberties and a trillion dollar war, all in the name of "protecting us."
Besides, the idea that you can fight a war or terror is ridiculous. Terrorists aren't sent by governments, they're rogue individuals, and can originate in any country, and move between any number of countries. Therefore, attacking a counrty (let alone one that had nothing to do with 9/11) isn't going to do anything to "combat terrorism." The best way to minimize terrorist attacks would be to take a look at our foreign policy, and how it's prompted a lot of (justifiable) anger towards the U.S. But putting out violence again and again and expecting that to somehow equal peace is just ludicrous.

I can prove attacks were foiled. The main one they foiled was 6 idiots in a warehouse who were going to attack the USA. They had no weapons, they had no plan, they had no links to terrorists, and they had no brains!
Bush is the poster boy for terrorist. We have made an enemy of a country we attacked for no reason. Saddam hated terrorist, Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. In fact, he killed terrorist when he found them. More surprising is the fact that Saddam Hussein did not hate America!
We will be hit again. That's the price of freedom and that is they price you pay when you don't sit down and talk with your enemies. There has been no diplomacy! Attacking countries that have no terrorist or anything to do with 9/11 is the epitome of stupidity!
The worse we treat the middle east the more three we are under, the more we steal from the middle east and fail to have a dialog assures another attack! But that should be expected!
Greece probably didn't declare a war on terror as there is no such thing! It is only a never ending way to get blank checks to give those who are on corporate welfare!
"And what the hell is terrorism, anyway? It's not a thing; it's not a place; it's not a person. It is a political and military strategy, that's all. Having a 'War On Terrorism' is as ridiculous as having a 'War on Flanking Maneuvers'. You'll end terrorism when there's no longer anything for anybody to get pissed off about."

Not just America, the whole damned civilized world.
The terrorists have made their agenda crystal clear - they have committed acts of war, terror and murder against Americans all over the globe for over 25 years. Our policy of inaction and no effective response finally culminated in the events of 9/11. No reasonable person who is concerned about this ideology is dismissing it lightly.
You are not up on recent events when you claim "nothing has happened since" - Spain: train bombings / France: riots, murder and fires / Japan: chemical agents released in subways / Russia: school children held hostage and murdered / UK: plot to blow up two commercial airlines over the Atlantic uncovered and prevented and the list goes on and on.
I seriously haven't figured out if Islam is a religion or a political movement of hatred and domination. This ideology cannot be allowed to fester and grow - the world once dismissed an ideology of hatred and we paid dearly to finally put an end to it - 62 million people died in WWII - and we must not make that mistake again. Best we squash this demented ideology once and for all.

Well, first of all, maybe the reason we haven't had any more acts of terrorism in America because we have fought them where they spawn. Secondly, you have no idea what the UK, Russia, India, Spain, or Italy are doing to fight terrorism. For instance, British troops had been fighting homegrown terrorism from the IRA for almost forty years. Russia and India have been battling their own war on terror, with Chechnya and Sri Lanka, respectively. Just because they don't call it a war on terror, doesn't mean they aren't using soldiers to fight against armed insurrection in their territories.

I believe that it is all the propaganda that the news media feeds us, and the constant state of fear they create by reporting on nothing but terrorism. Reporting on terrorist attack after terrorist attack. If one would look back on history we actually helped to create some of these Islamicfacists terrorist groups during the Afghan War. We helped fund Muslim extremists, and one of those was Bin Laden. In 1977 Zbigniew Brzezinski, as President Carter’s National Security Adviser, forms the Nationalities Working Group (NWG) dedicated to the idea of weakening the Soviet Union by inflaming its ethnic tensions. The Islamic populations are regarded as prime targets. Richard Pipes, the father of Daniel Pipes, takes over the leadership of the NWG in 1981. Pipes predicts that with the right encouragement Soviet Muslims will “explode into genocidal fury” against Moscow. According to Richard Cottam, a former CIA official who advised the Carter administration at the time, after the fall of the Shah of Iran in 1978, Brzezinski favored a “de facto alliance with the forces of Islamic resurgence, and with the Republic of Iran.” But, I guess they have to create and keep us in a constant state of fear. As Hitler found out people are much more willing to surrender their civil liberties during extreme national emergencies, people are more scared and thus willing to surrender their civil liberties in return for "security." And for the most part it is working, unfortunely. We pasted the Patriot Act, Real ID Act, and Military Commissions Act of 2006, and the John Warner Defense Act. All of which violates the Constitution.

Because you have professionals creating the potential for further 9/11's if they don't get control of Middle Eastern oil; as there is every likelihood that you won't get control of it further 9/11's will probably be required to gain political consent for continuing the holy oil war/crusade.

yea, thats true. We just don't like to live in a world in which terrorism has been accepted by other countries. We prefer to deal with the problem rather than accept the problem as part of society
EDIT: your right, this is the best we can do. But that doesn't mean we can't trust the government

Oh for the love of god!
Nothing has happened since 9-11 because SO MUCH has been happening on our side in terms of anti terrorism measures. Our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan is keeping the terrorists on the run. We have cut off their funding, made communications by phone perilous, and proven that anytime they have a meeting, we can blow up the venue.
These other countries are experiencing terrorism because THEY haven't taken the measure we have. They are easy targets.

Numerous attempts have been thwarted since 9/11 thanks to US and international intelligence. The US diligence differentiates the US from other countries who have had further attacks.
Terrorists have declared the US as the #1 enemy so constant attention must be paid to this matter. It is no accident that nothing has happened since. Wise up.

hate to say this cheryl but you don't have a clue.
it's all terrorism and most of it in other countries is aimed at trying to get those govt's to move away from their ties with the US and other western govt's.
the threat is real... there have been dozens of attempted attacks since 911 in the US as well as other countries that have been stopped because of good investigative work.
