I want to get a french maid costume to wear while cleaning the house. I don't want to spend too much, but I don't want a uniform of low quality.

There is a store on eBay that I've found & it has lots of costumes, including French Maid uniforms. Here is the link to that eBay store & a photo of the uniform I'm getting for myself.

Are you going to be a professional "house cleaner"? Or cleaning your own house only? and wanting to look just great when you answer the door to the mail man or milk man or whoever?
Why not buy the black fabric and make a black dress, buy white cotton fabric and make a small white apron, with bib attached and make white ruffle to put around the apron. Sew a white waistband on so you can pull it really tight. Buy cotton cos polyester mix holds stains.
Anyway, that would save your money and you would have the pleasure of making it yourself.

Just saw a cute one on Fredricks of Hollywood's web site. Fredricksofhollywood.com. Not for sure but you can also go to a costume shop but it depends on why or how you wanna wear it because the one at fredricks was sexy.

They sell them at costume shops. Of course you could get some more interesting lingerie at Frederick's of Hollywood

I think most any lingerie shop might have them, like Frederick's of Hollywood or Victoria's Secret.
Or find a local shop thru the yellow pages.
Many malls have one of those stores in it too.
