Ellis Island behind Bally's has a steak dinner for $5.00, which is actually pretty good. When I went to Vegas, I took a list of all of the cheap eats deals, a lot were disappointing, this wasn't. The meal includes salad a 10 oz. steak, vegetables, and potato.

The cheapest buffets I saw were about $10 for dinner, sometimes you can get a BOGO coupon which would effectively cut the price in half. If you want to gamble a lot, you might be able to get stuff comp'd as a "high-roller", but chances are you are just spending the same amount of money or more at the table rather than the restaurant.

Watch the buffets! You sometimes think that they would be the cheapest, but then you get there and the food choices aren't that great...so you paid $10 to nibble on some luke warm buffet food. The Flamingo has a nice restaurant that is menu dirven and not too bad on the wallet. Ask the concierge at the hotel you are staying at and watch the info channel on your hotel room TV, you'll get some good info on specials there. Have Fun!

Check out the casino buffets. Skip the Rio, which is really high-priced (plus a long walk from the Strip). Circus-Circus has a fair-priced buffet, with a big selection. It pays to ask around. Don't expect much in the way of inside information from a dealer, unless you get pretty chummy. They can get in trouble if it becomes known they're sending customers to the cheaper local joints!

Ask the pitboss for buffet and food comps at the tables. They will give them to you if you are playing $5-$10 per hand

They are the ones off the strip. Ask some of the locals, ask the dealers, they have to eat too. Have fun, I know we always do when we go.
