A 55 gallon is prefectly ok for 2 Fm and 1 Gt, you are doing good.

Depends on the size and for how long too. I had a Firemouth 3" and a Green Terror 4" in a 55 Gal tank before with no problem, but 2FM + 1GT might be too many they are territorial. At one time I had 4 Zebras (Convicts) that a Friend gave me for about 2 weeks in same tank until I was able to set up a new 29 Gal tank for the Zebras.
Fire Mouths, GrnTerrors, Oscars, well most Cichlids are territorials so the bigger the tank the better. If you keep em together make sure you have hiding places (rocsk, tree roots) where they can hide from each other in opposites side of the tank.

If thats all you have then your tank is more then adequate. Neither fish grows much more then 6-8". I have many cichlids, puffers, tiger barbs and an oscar in my 55 gal and they are doing great. Add to that a 1' fire eel. Always keep semi aggressive fish and peaceful fish separate.

That's a bit crowded under the best of conditions and since those are rather aggressive fish it would be a recipe for constant fighting. I certainly wouldn't suggest it.
