Orkut.com is a community site. Now a days it is so popular. I finds no advertisements there on it. Can you tell me, how this site is genetaring bussiness and money for the company.

Orkut is world’s richest man?

I came across this stupid post somewhere on the web which talked about Orkut earning billions of dollars. I read through the whole post and I JUST DONT GET IT!
The author claimed of the post nicely explained how much he earns but fails to talk about why is he getting paid so much?
According to the post:
Orkut Buyukkokten(the creator of Orkut) gets $12 when every person registers to this website.
He also gets $10 when you add somebody as a friend.
He gets $8 when your friend’s friend adds you as a friend & gets $6 if anybody adds you as a friend in the resulting chain.
He gets $5 when you scrap somebody & $4 when somebody scraps you.
He also gets $200 for each photograph you upload on Orkut.
He gets $2.5 when you add your friend in the crush-list or in the hot-list.
He gets $2 when you become somebody’s fan.
He gets $1.5 when somebody else becomes your fan.
He even gets $1 every time you logout of Orkut.
He gets $0.5 every time you just change your profile-photograph.
He also gets $0.5 every time you read your friend’s scrap-book & $0.5 every time you view your friend’s friend-list.
Many Global Financial Consultants think this person might become the richest-person in the world by the end of 2009.
Finally, this is the best fact. This person has 13 assistants to monitor his scrapbook & 8 assistants to monitor his friends-list. He gets around 20,000 friend-requests a day & about 85,000 scraps a day.
Its common sense to analyze why some will get paid so much for so little things. Worst of all was the comments the post carried. People were in awe to see the post and started rolling their eyes. I cant believe all that crap. According to those calculations, by now Orkut should have been the world’s richest man alive, but he is not. Not even into the list of billionaires. And if I am not wrong, he is not even in millionaires. The most appropriate answer to orkut’s earnings could be found on my blog where I calculated his earnings based on Google Adsense Advertising, coz thats what will pay Orkut and nothing else. he recent broadcast of “advertise on orkut” has now taken into effect. Orkut is pulling up adsense ads on the site on sections, community forum, private messages and events. You will see Google Adsense ads laying around the pages and you know what happens when you click on them.
This move is obviously intelligent but cruel. We (orkut users) expected orkut.com to be add free and true social networking platform. But orkut went the usual Google way (start a service, make it a hit, put ads)
Just to see how much money orkut will make in a course of one year, here are the approximate figures.
Approx. Daily traffic = 500,000
Approx. Click through rate = 0.5 (minimum, usually more than 1)
No. of clicks = 2500 (depends on CTR)
Average earning per click = $1
Earnings per day = $2,500 (minimum)
Earnings per month = $75,000
Earnings per year = $900,000 (nearly a million in just one year)
So, now we know how much money orkut will make just by placing stupid adsense ads.

Actually there is something called internet traffic bandwidth ... there is a organisation which pays the websites according to there internet bandwidth.. i.e clicks on that..
And also orkut is started by a person name as ORKUT which is working under google ... this project is financed by the google .. And now orkut has started giving google ads ... so wenever someone opens orkut there is something that orkut is gaining ...

orkut is a restricted site. Somebody should introduce you or remove/delete you. By this way a data bank is available with orkut whereas the material available with the website may be used by the orkut website in any way-both right and wrong ways. By selling this or sharing it orkut get lots of money.

Well maybe,they may have a contract in which they get cashed up for every new member joining....It's jus my speculation..i don't know for sure
