for two weeks then i started my period after it started to slow down i got my shot but im still bleeding three weeks later .is this some thing to be concerned with or is it normal for after missing my shot...iv been on the shot for a good 4 years....

You may want to call and check with your doctor, but it could all be normal. I've known girls that started on the shot and bled on and off for the first 3 months. It wasn't always heavy, sometimes it was just spotting, but it was consistent. As far as I know bleeding for a lengthy time is a common side effect when starting on the shot, I know you had been on it before, but missing it and starting it again may have shocked the body somewhat in the hormone department.

I would definitely let the dr know what is going on because sometimes getting the shot late can cause the body to have a hard time catching up. The dr may have to change your schedule for shots or give you something else to help slow the bleeding down.
