No, you will remove the anti-tarnish coating. If your horn is already tarnished then you can use it to remove the tarnish, but a relatively new horn really only needs polishing with a soft cloth. You can rinse your mouthpiece in plain water to clean it but the rest of the horn should not be put in water. If there's a metal threader in your trumpet case, thread it with a soft cloth and run it through the horn to remove spit.

NO!...stop....don't do that. I've played trumpet for 6 years. i tried that once and it totally messed up my trumpet. it took off the brass color and turned it like a rusty color.

that stuff will scratch the surface of the trumpet with tiny scratches. i wouldn't use it!!!
