I think men take it for the same reason you listed, and also if they decide to fight back then they have to worry about being arrested for abuse. Cops seem to always look at the woman as the victim in any type of abuse situation. I had a friend who had that problem, so I just took care of it for him. I will put you in your place if your hurting any of my family or friends. Now he's in a nice, normal relationship. ABUSE DOESN'T MEAN THE PERSON LOVES YOU. Just means they like to take their anger out on you, because they are afraid to stand up for themselves in certain situation, like at work, and beating on someone else makes them feel in control.

it's wrong whoever the abuser is--male or female. I understand why men are ashamed to speak out--fear of being ridiculed, etc. and if they choose to let the abuse continue, they should at least see a shrink but if their are children involved they need to get out of the relationship and take the kids with them. If they can't be strong for themselves, they need to be strong for the kids.

Yes, I do agree. Men who suffer from physical abuse from their partner are far less likely to report it because just like you said they fear being ridiculed. I just hope that men as well as women have enough sense to leave b4 it's to late. No one should ever stay with someone who beats them.

Abuse is wrong either ways. Women get lot of attention and support when they are abused but men dont.. no idea why..

My brother was in an abusive relationship for 25 years and never spoke up about it until just two years ago. Pride and all that got in the way. He's happy now once he reached out to us and we were able to help him.

I think for men it's more of an mental weakness that they suffer through. Any type of abuse physical or mental is unacceptable.

you are absolutely right. but i believe women are victimized more and suffer far more. you'll have to excuse me if i am not too sympathetic to the men, but being affected by the very abuse you speak of, i don't think men get it nearly as bad as women. i do not feel we (men) respect our women near enough. but maybe thats just me.
