Hi! Welcome to the club, I am also 35 weeks pregnant -how exciting! But I am really starting to feel yucky these days and can feel that my pregnancy days are numbered.

This (Macrobid) is an anti-biotic and it is actually best to take it now and clear up any infection as soon as possible because infections can actually make you start labor sooner and could cause complications. Therefore, anti-biotics are best to take at this point and it will not hurt your baby.

But you really shouldn't worry because once you have reached 34 weeks, if your baby is born it has very excellent chances of being completely healthy just a tad bit early. My first born was delivered at 36 weeks and she was a little small 6 lbs 4 oz but I never really considered her a preemie and she grew just fine and now she is 13 months old and weighs 27 lbs. She is a big healthy girl! I know what your thinking, she has a one year old and she is having another so soon? Yes, I waited a long time and finally married the one and now we have started a family. I wanted my babies to be close together and then no more.

The OB gave me some anti-biotics when I was about 24 weeks along (11 weeks ago). I had a very slight UTI/bladder infection which is common but anyway, I took them and didn't have a problem. Don't worry you'll be just fine! God bless you and your baby!

You should do what your doctor says. I looked up Macrobid in the Prescribing Reference, and it's categorized as a class B for pregnancy, meaning it's completely safe throughout pregnancy.

You should have expressed your concern when the doctor wrote the prescription.

If the doctor knew you were pregnant, and prescribed this medicine, I would think it would be ok?
