Slavery was once accepted, then society progressed and it was done away with.
Women didn't have many rights and weren't allowed to vote until the early 1900's. Now they are equals.
African Americans were considered 2nd class citizens and weren't afforded equal rights until the 1960's. Now they are considered equals (by most people).
The exact same thing is going to happen with gay people whether you like it or not. They will soon become equal and be afforded the same rights as the rest of us.
Quit living in the dark ages, learn to be tolerant, and accept people for who they are.

Leogirl you are, by far, my favorite truly ignorant poster on Q&A. Be proud cause you have found something you're really good at!
African-Americans have been free since the 1800's? Did you just crawl out from under a rock?
Dear lord open your freakin eyes. Just once.

That's nice, use religion to hate and discriminate.
The OT is full of things that do not pertain to modern society.
Once again, get out of the dark ages and bring yourself up to modern times.
The Bible is supposed to be a book of love, not hate.

No, they don't get it. Obviously.
That's the point of bigotry. It's an arbitrary belief that has no basis in external logic. It's just what they choose to belief.
Even as the laws change to outlaw discrimination, there are still and will still be people who continue to believe that way.
And they are completely entitled to their beliefs, and they are entitled (in the US) to express those beliefs. But what they are not entitled to do is force their discrimination down everyone elses throats as a matter of poorly enacted law.

It will come . All the other examples you stated did not happen over night . Also , they are not 100 % finished . Some bigotry still exist with women and African Americans, you can not tell a man how to think.

It's not that easy to broaden a narrow mind. People believe what they believe, and it's next to impossible to get them to even consider that you may have the right idea.
But, anyway, I agree with you. Sexuality will eventually not matter anymore. I think it's absolute insanity for someone think they can decide weather or not certain people can get married. Bigotry may be too kind a description.

Personally I believe that people have the right to choose the way they live...that doesn't mean I have to like it or understand it but it doesn't give me or anyone else the right to oppress them. I know several gay people and they are some of the best people in the world.

Enlightened parents teach their children that every one is exactly the same. From the dirtiest bum in the gutter to the President of the United States. No one is better then another.

Bravo!!!!! Well said...
You will have people complain that you can't compare gay people with what women and African Americans went through, because you are talking about race, and sex rather than how people live.. but it's the same with the Native Americans... we didn't do what we did to them because of their race or nationality we did it because of how they lived.. they lived differently than us.. they were considered "savages " in our civilized society

Let's all have a dubie cause they'll be legal shortly.
we are tolerant, and accept people for what they are--
I/and some wes' DO NOT condone homosexuality in the
light or the dark ages of the closet. It may be true that some
legal forms may in the future be valid for gays -- marriage
is beyond legality and there I split the hair and will stand and
be counted as 1 man, 1 woman, 1 God = 1 Marriage

The dark ages are closer than you think.
God is not dead. He sees and knows all.
Hope springs eternal for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.
Do you equate what you want with God's purpose? Ask for God's perfect guidance and He will show you the way. Prayer is the answer.
