I never thought of it like that, but that is a very interesting point. Science is what people now a days do look up to, maybe that was the turning point

Newton had written documents of being klunked on the head with an apple. I think that an apple is so much a represtentation of death and hell but as rebirth. Why do you ask? A fruit carries a seed wich is eaten by an animal and is planted in that anlimals feces with the coating digested. With the seed comes a new apple tree and more apples and so on, I think this is the case for all fruit. Yes I do believe the church is fighting a loosing battle against scientists. I believe this is because the church is not finding any new ways to prove the existance of god, the different theories of the life of Jesus. Scientists have already won but too many people don't want to admit it, I think the only thing the church can really do is accept that thier beliefs are wrong or they are some how backed up by science. For an example, I'm jewish but I believe that god is the creator of science and still watches over us. Yes, I agree with you, newton was a genius and he inspired many people. I think your Idea is very acceptable and you think of you as an intellectual for asking such a question.

Actually he thought it all out mathematically without the apple. However, after he had published his great book about gravity and motion, the British government decided that it should start an initiative to understand such important discoveries, and encourage more of them. So a government inspector turned up, and asked Newton how he had come to think of his marvellous theories. And Newton had to tell him something he would understand, not mathematical gobbledygook, so he made up the story about the apple. Then he probably spent the rest of his life wishing that he hadn't, but it was too late.
