How can I fit a 15mm copper pipe to a 15mm PVC pipe:?

I just bought a new shower and its a nightmare, it has a PVP pipe with no thread. The copper inlet has a thread but its fitted with a connection which means a compression elbow doesnt fit on it.
Should I use a simple copper elbow, use joint compound on the copper end and glue on the PVC end: Would this work without leaks.
I have bought plastic compression elbows and copper elbows with threads but none of them fit without leaks.
So without having to start cutting pipes, what can I do.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Is the plastic pipe PVC, or CPVC? There is a big difference in the size of these two pipes. CPVC pipe has the same outside diameter of copper pipe. PVC pipe is larger, and a little harder to connect. There is a coupling available to attach CPVC, copper, and PEX pipes together without glue or joint compound. It is called a "Tiger coupling", and is available at plumbing wholesale stores, and I have found them at Ace hardware. Just make sure the ends are cut straight, and slide the pipe into the coupling. It has teeth inside, that "bite" the pipe, yet with a removal tool, you can remove the coupling, to access the pipe. Besides couplings, tees and elbows are also available, in 1/2", and 3/4" sizes. Gluing copper to PVC will not hold. You need either threaded to threaded or glued to glued. If the copper is threaded, you should be able to find a male or female threaded PVC fitting that can be glued on.

i would say to get yourself a pvc threaded connection to glue on your pvc pipe, then you will have two threaded ends, one on the copper and one on the pvc. then get a threaded union to attach the two together...

Maybe a piece of hose and 2 hose clips would do the job ?
