Could well be that due to a change in the way they are administering benefits means that they do not carry out visits as frequently as they used to but are now sending more letters out to people to check that you actually live at the address you say.

You would have to give some detail re. the content of the letter, and which benefit it related to.

dont worry, those who hunt you down for benifit fraud do not wish to catch everybody, or make it impossable for benefit fraud to exist, because that would mean they could no longer justifie their job and it would be abolished, so they need benefit fraud just as much as the fraudster, as they call them, i call them economic warriors. defending their own position.

someone suspects a fraudulent claim and has grassed you up or cross reference checks show discrepancy (could be a computer error on their part)
