I wasn't around for Howdy Doody. That last show sounds like a tear jerker. The first show I remember touching me like that was Family Affair w/ Uncle Bill and Buffy and Jody.

The peanut gallery was quiet at that moment. After I read your question, I found a site about Bob Keeshan being clarabell, and Captain Kangaroo. (Do you remember the Statler Brothers singing about Captain Kangaroo?) There was a video clip of the "Banana Man, Oh-Oh,Wow!" Now thats deja -vu.

I was frightened of clowns......

I changed the channel quickly to...

That pre kinder garden kids show of.....

"Romper Bomper Stomper Room"

"Tell me, tell me, tell me true!!!!

Then the teacher would pick up a magic mirror ....(that had no glass)...

and say...looking through the glass.....into my living room...

" I see Dharma, and Steph and yahoo, and all the nice polite little children out there"......

see you all tomorrow !!!!

well, i've never heard of it...but like how old were you when you cried? if ya were like...3 or 4...then that would be fine, but it's a little more weird if you were like 24 or 25

I vaguely remember it. I do remember the show but not that well. I saw more of sheriff john and engineer bill. My sister was a hobo kelly fan. thanks for the memories.
