How many of the things below do people do while sleeping? (I already know that some of them are done, but not all). BTW, when I say sleeping, I mean in bed, NOT sleep-walking. That's a whole other ballgame!

Clear their thoat, cough, cry, hiccup, laugh, pass gas, scratch an itch, sigh, sneeze, swallow, wipe their nose, yawn

The only ones possible as far as I know are:

cough
cry
laugh
pass gas
scratch an itch
sneeze
swallow
wipe their nose
yawn

You may think that some of these cannot be done while sleeping because you need to be conscious in order to do them, but that's not necessarily true. For example, swallowing, wiping your nose, yawning and so on are possible because they are automatical reactions/reflexes. You can do them even when you're asleep as long as the brain commands it and tells you that you need it. Sneezing is an automatic reflex and cannot be stopped, just like it is hard to stop it when you're awake.

I know some people cough, cry, laugh, pass gas, sneeze (I was surprised when I heard this one occur, didn't think we could sneeze in our sleep) wipe nose. Don't Know about the others. I've seen, heard, and smelled the evidence.

Some people clear their throat,
cough,
hiccup,
pass gas,
scratch,
sigh,
swallow.

Laughing, crying, sneezing, yawning, or wiping their nose are extremely rare and usually only occur at the moment of waking.

Of all of the listed above, I've done all of them, exept pass gas, in three nights before.I know that people do that though. I videotaped and audiotaped myself sleeping one time for a research project in psychology class at school one time.

I think clearing the throat would be hardest. Seems to require conscious effort.

Some people cry in their sleep, but I don't think there were any tears but just the moaning.

cry, laugh. I think you have to be awake for the others. I have laughed and cried from certain dreams in my sleep and woke up laughing or crying.
