Al-Qaeda is exclusively Sunni, and most evidence point to that group being the ones responsible for the 9/11 attacks.
BTW, Saddam was of the Baath party, not Sunni. And Iran is 90% Shiite. In contrast, 85% of Saudis are Sunni.
So, Al-Qaeda has the strongest links to Saudia Arabia, and was directly opposed by both Saddam and Iran.

Shia and Sunni are for all intents and purposes factions of Muslims as tribes.
The 9-11 bombers were the Traveling Taliban, primarily Saudis who lived in Afghanistan and trained under Osama Bin Laden and the Al Quaida network of terrorists.

I don't have a clue!!!!!!!!! Just hope that people will stop killing one another in the middle east ,so that they can they live in peace and harmony and so can the American people ... This is why I personally feel that it would not be a good idea to with draw our troops in case they were to come back and finish off what they started with 9-11 etc......

Shia and Sunni Muslims will fight each other, but they will work together to kill non Muslims. After all, that is what the Koran teaches. Allah wants all nonMuslims dead.
