Take into consideration the earth's rotational orbit around the sun is always changing and the way the earth "wobbles" about it's rotational axis. Outside of super volcano's, asteroids, this is also speculated to be a reason for Ice Ages. It can also be speculated that this is the reason for the times of high temperatures on Earth.

Another big factor is the way extremely dense cities "hold" heat and do not cool at the same rate dirt, woodland area, and outter urban areas would. Dense Cities are always going to be producing heat due the facts - 1) Cold time heaters running for businesses 2) Summer time A/C's constantly running and concrete / asphalt are also holding in heat. At this point the cities can become heat-sinked and stale.

If you would graph the ubranization of large cities and the development of new dense cities this would also increase as temps increase in those areas - cities have the same effect on weather as a large body of water does as in a lake-effect Snow (where moist air moves over a large body of water and it cools the air enough for it to begin to snow). Hence, if it used to snow a lot in one area and it becomes less common as the city grows it could be because the cold air that normally moves in is heated and therefore no snow and only rain or sleet is the resultant. Also if your house is cold, u turn on the heat, well imagine a city growing large like turning up the heat, each new building producing heat, after awhile the average temperature in that area would start to rise. *WE are changing the climate in many other ways then just pollution.

Man made lakes also lead to humidity which in turn effect temperatures

http://amol.org.au/recollections/3/pdf/humidity.pdf.

Also have to take into effect the jetstream, ocean heating/cooling, air masses.

The best thing would be to compile data on everything listed effect's on global climate and start to come to a better more educated conclusion and not let politicians tell us what is best for us. Hey who knows if they created a "green" item that you will need to buy to fight global warming? Check where the money is going, check what they want to contribute. It's been my experience if there isn't money in it, they usually don't care so much.

It's caused by many things. Here are some:

pollution
harmful solar energy
clouds (but not by much, they send energy back to Earth)
the greenhouse affect
the output of chemicals into the atmosphere (pollution)
carbon dioxide/monoxide
deforestation
over population
livestock (methane gas and deforestation for land)
apathy

there are some of the reasons... and the livestock one is serious, with large amounts of methane gas.... that could be a problem and the deforestation...

Global warming is the observed increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans in recent decades and its projected continuation.

Global average air temperature near Earth's surface rose 0.74 ± 0.18 °Celsius (1.3 ± 0.32 °Fahrenheit) in the last century. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes, "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations,"[1] which leads to warming of the surface and lower atmosphere by increasing the greenhouse effect. Other phenomena such as solar variation and volcanoes have probably had a warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950, but a cooling effect since 1950.[1] These conclusions have been endorsed by at least 20 scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the G8 states.[2] Some individual scientists disagree with parts of this conclusion as does the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.[3]

Models referenced by the IPCC predict that global temperatures are likely to increase by 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) between 1990 and 2100.[1] The range of values reflects the use of differing scenarios of future greenhouse gas emissions as well as uncertainties regarding climate sensitivity. Although most studies focus on the period up to 2100, warming and sea level rise are expected to continue for more than a millennium even if no further greenhouse gases are released after this date.[1] This reflects the long average atmospheric lifetime of carbon dioxide (CO2).

An increase in global temperatures can in turn cause other changes, including a rising sea level and changes in the amount and pattern of precipitation. There may also be increases in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, though it is difficult to connect specific events to global warming. Other consequences include changes in agricultural yields, glacier retreat, reduced summer streamflows, species extinctions and increases in the ranges of disease vectors.

Remaining scientific uncertainties include the exact degree of climate change expected in the future, and especially how changes will vary from region to region across the globe. A hotly contested political and public debate also has yet to be resolved, regarding whether anything should be done, and what could be cost-effectively done to reduce or reverse future warming, or to deal with the expected consequences. Most national governments have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol aimed at combating greenhouse gas emissions.

It is really occurring in the fantasy of people like Al (Internet inventing) Gore and that ilk. People found out that Al Gore knew nothing of the Internet, much less had anything to do with inventing it or even a tiny little part of it. So, as a professional scammer, Al (inventing) Gore moved on to another "invented" notion. (94 percent of world scientists do not believe in global warming) so it is most likely a fallacy isn't it.

Global warming is accruing because of the greenhouse affect. The greenhouse affect is when the earth take in Infered rays and lets some of it go, but keeps some of it too. Then the IR rays become like a blanket and cover the earth. But this is getting dangerous.

To try and make it real simple. The burning of fossil fuels produce greenhouse gasses and in turn start the melting of the ice caps at the polls. That in turn slows the ocean currents and the end result is a fall in temperatures that cause a mini ice age. When scientists speak of global warming they are actually telling the end result ICE AGE.

Climatic changes from global warming to ice ages occur every few thousands of years. Before this event gets out of hand, our generation, and a few hundred more generations will have come and gone so we don't need to feel troubled by it.

Pullution given off buy cars and factories go into the atmosphere and and creates a green house affect and makes the earths climate warmer wich mets the iceburgs and if all the iceburgs melt the all the land on earth will flood

yes it is happening and scientists are worried about it. global warming is happening now. the term 'warming' means it is getter WARMER from year to year.

The main cause of global warming is because of the increase of carbon dioxide in our earth atmosphere.

to discuss global warming in a inner dept. first, we need to know about greenhouse effect. greenhouse effect is where the greenhouse gases in our atmosphere (carbon monoxide, CFC, and nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide) trap heat from the surface of our earth and act as a blanket that covering the earth

human cant survive without greenhouse effect, in fact, greenhouse effect make earth warm and enable human to survive.

but, THE 'greenhouse effect' is another story.

Carbon dioxide is one of those greenhouse gases that will trap heat from the earth surface. (not all gases like can really trap heat). more CO2, more heat to trap. thus, earth become warming and global warming happens.
