They earned it, so they deserve it. I can see you are an radical...If like socialism so much, my friend, move to eastern Europe. If you like communism, move to Cuba. Enjoy the poor living conditions. Liberals like yourself do not deserve to enjoy the precious benefits of capitalism. You really shouldn't take that for granted..

first off... how many of those CEOs were born poor? 5 percent... MAYBE?
the vast majority of the wealthy were born wealthy... went to better schools... got a better education and got better jobs because their father's knew someone...
this is life... but Republicans seem to either want to hide these facts or pretend that every CEO is a "self made man"... when he's much more a product of the society he was born into....
even Bill Gates' father was a millionaire?
but, for those few that they hold up as examples of "rags to riches" success... that 5 percent... it keeps everyone else quiet...
really though... when you think about it... they are calling about 80 percent of the US poor, lazy and stupid... because they apparently "don't have what it takes" to be a CEO?
how about this... a simple bet? I BET I could do a better job being the CEO of Ford than those of the last few have... I can run a company into the ground just as good as they did... I'm sure of it... in fact, I think I may be able to run them into the ground a little less than the real CEOs have...
and if I fail... can I get the multi-million dollar severance package too?

I think it's trickling down, it's warm but it smells like piss. It would be laughable if it weren't for the amounts of money these people pull out of their companies while Americans are struggling for their daily existence. I see where Circuit City just laid off thirty four hundred of their highest paid workers while giving the CEO two and a half million last year. That's what you get today for years of service to a company. They can apply for their old jobs after ten weeks, of course at a lower pay rate.

That's capatalism out of control - the truth is that we are all wage slaves to a small minority of very rich people - just look at how much respect Dubya has for human life.
And anyway, at least those workers have a job and some form of income. What about little babies born in developing countries that are being shafted by those same CEOs? They get to die of some horrible disease or just plain old hunger in the 1st six months of their lives. Does the west care? Are they willing to indulge in fair trade?

No trickle down. George H.W. Bush called trickle down economics "voodoo economics". He was right. Obviously guys like Ken Lay (personal friend of Dubya) are greedy. So greedy that they care less about anyone but themselves. Maybe their taxes need to be raised to force them to help those less fortunate since they don't do it themselves. Guys like Bill Gates give to others and in that case they can take that stuff off their taxes.

Here's today's question: While Americans were glued to Britney going bald, guess what got NO press?
Bush's HUGE new proposed budget includes Cuts that helps some families in the Very Best Way:
The Walton family, the heirs to Wal-Mart fortune -- about $32.7 billion dollars richer but...(Medicaid reductions over the same time frame-- $28 billion)
The Mars candy corporation family routinely ripped by human rights organizations for trafficking in child labor to work cocoa farms will receive about $11.7 billion in tax breaks.
(Bush cuts from the VA budget --$3.4 billion)
Cox cable family receives $9.7 billion tax break (while education would get $1.5 billion in cuts)
Nordstrom dept store family receives $826.5 million tax break (while $630 million Community Service Block Grants would be eliminated)
Ernest Gallo wine family receives a $468.4 million cut while LIHEAP (heating oil to poor) would get a $420 million cut
Exxon family $164 million in tax breaks - Supplemental food $108 million in cuts.
How many rich families are happy with Bush?

Knew that, but and did you know they average worker is just as intelligent if not more, but just because they don't have a piece of paper on the wall they have to be subjected to a lower wage with no promotional ability. You know most people with a college degree allow themselves to believe they are better than those without. I know more dumasses with a degree than without. oh, and by the way, I have a degree.

Oh I know!
Make the rich richer and the poor poorer. I remember when Reagan got rid of school lunches - my single mother was hurt by that one.
Spoken like a true liberal: Tax the wealthiest 1% of this country even a fraction more than what they pay now, and raise poverty levels and standards of education. Otherwise this country will not continue to have the upper hand in the world.

In the US, people are rewarded for their achievements in life. A CEO has worked his way to a position which pays a hefty salary. An entreprenuer is rewarded nicely for creating a succesful product or service. Thats the beauty of a free capitalistic society, anyone can achieve success and wealth if they are capable and commited, do you fault a professional athelete or actor for making $12 million a year?
