My fiance was a cop, so he had lots of experience driving and taught me a few tricks about parking and turning. I made sure I would always make the perfect turns and park jobs. Driving was scary at first, but then it becomes easier the more you do it. Just take your time and don't worry if someone is mad at you for driving slow. Driving now is my favorite thing to do, too bad it costs so much in gas! But I like to cruise around, just remember to always be scanning infront of you and always check to see who's around you, in your blind spots, behind you, etc.
It took me approximately 1 hour to memorize the DMV booklet, and 2 days to memorize the major California Vehicle Codes police use. Took 1 minute to figure out gas, pedal, break, park, drive, and reverse. It took me about 3 days total to be comfortable driving my '65 Mustang in traffic, no power steering and drum brakes. Thankfully, I've never had anyone hit me or I've never hit anyone else. THEY've come very close tho!
To learn how to drive stick was challenging at first, because I always drived an auto. My fiance tried to teach me in a '72 bug, but the clutch was bad and I gave up. I taught myself how to drive a stick in my old pickup two years ago in half an hour, because I had no other car and needed to go to work the next day.

Driving comes to you very nautrual, you need to just take a week getting to know how to operate it knowing simple stuff it's very easy, i drove maybe a few times then when i got my car i jumped right in it a drove to work which was a good 20min drive and i was fine, its just going by ur insict and paying close attention to what your doing and the other cars keeping your eyes alert, it's not that hard i was on the highway after a 3days of driving

About 30 min. I was nine. Grew up driving tractors and motorbikes so it was pretty easy for me, learning on a stick is way easier becuase you begin to understand what the car is doing and how to drive better.

I was lucky. grew up on a farm. I HAD to drive a tractor and run a tiller, back-hoe.
My older brothers got me to drive the flatbed truck we used to bail hay. They taught me to drive 3-wheelers and motercycles, go-carts.
A car was just learning the rules of the road.
At 13 I could drive any car. You can do it too!

Just a couple of times up and down the road and I had it almost figued out. It took me a long time to gradually get better, but I knew how to do it in just a little bit.

2 weeks ... 2 one-hour lessons frm my dad...and 2 weeks of bumping & bruising the car while I tried things on my own. The best thing he ever taught me was how to parallel park!
