Yes, it really can be deafening...quite so when you miss someone who isn't there.

Silence is in short commodity around here. The T.V. is always on or the kids are yelling or the computer is beeping or the traffic is heavier outside. It is always noisy here. I would love to have some thundering silence.

OMG yes...it happens to me when I am just finishing listening to some loud music and then cut it off and I'm all alone or when we're doing a test at school.

I like something to be on and making some noise like radio or tv, silence makes me feel lonely

yes i was thinking that the other nite. i couldn't sleep and it just felt like the silence of nite time was deafening

Only when it's over the phone!. In daily life and in the car...it's heaven to me! ( I have kids!)
