Some cities offer free removal of structural beehives.....but not non-structural......in other words if the hive in on your house they will remove it . If it's on the property ( ie; a tree) they won't. Except ........if it is near a school or day care center, nursing home or hospital.
Call the city office and find out in your area......or check to see if there are any bee keepers in your area.

Why can't you just do it yourself? Get some bee/hornet spray and spray the heck out of the hive at night when they aren't active. I used a whole can the first time! Then wait a couple days and spray it again. Watch the hive to make sure no bee's are coming and going. Then hit it with a water stream like from your outside hose with a nozel on it. It should fall apart and you can clean it up.

Most large Universities have an entomology department. They will remove the hive and save most of the bees. Also, bee keepers might be of assistance. DO NOT KILL the BEES. Bees are becoming fewer and fewer because of insecticides and loss of habitat. Bees pollinate our crops. Please try to find someone willing to save them if possible. Thank you.

You might try contacting a bee keeper. He/she just might do it for the hive as a trophy.

I don't know many people who would be stupid enough to do a job like that for free, and why would you want to be so stingy and cheap about it? You know what they say "nothing costs nothing". Either, you do it yourself, pay someone to do it ( and first make sure they're not allergic to bees), or if you do find someone that naive and stupid to do it for free, tell 'em it's a magical football-shaped lamp with a genie inside! Have fun.
