and they had this episode about how every 200 years or so a meteore crashes into the earth and it causes a big explosion, and that it could happen at anytime, anywhere, even, like a big city like los angeles or new york or england. and we cant stop it. and I have banned myself from watching that channel but nothing else was on. So, in conclusion... do you think that this is true and that it does happen, or is it just some sci-fi thing they made up to scare stupid people, like myself?

Do I think it can happen? Sure its definately a possibilty, evidence exitsts that its happend before. But also in a sense, todays TV channels like to sucker people in and make them think that events that have an extremely remote chance of happening are going to happen now or tommorrow at least. There a "terror factor" that they like to use to grab hold to viewer and not let go making them think that the information they are giving can save your life. Should a massive object strike the Earth, if your in the immediate area or killed in the intial impact then your troubles are pretty much over. Should you survive though then its pretty much a problem for ALL of the planet and not just you. Its what they call a ELE- Extinction Level Event. An event so devestating as to wipe out all life on Earth

There are many ways the Earth could end, don't blame National Geographic, it's not their fault.

HA!!!!
Your more lucky to be struck by lightning more than ten times in your life than be killed by a meteor.

So don't go anywhere in the rain...

It happens, but not that often. NASA has a program that watches for just that, you can watch it on the web.
