Bramos68- Do you know anything about College football? Russell was on no ones radar until after he tore apart a weak Irish defense. Now all of a sudden he is the best talent out there. Have you heard of Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas. Russell, I think, is better now then Quinn will ever be, but that doesn't make him the obvious choice for #1 pick. How long do you think Moss and Porter are gonna hang out? Johnson, to me, is the clear cut choice. They can always go after Carr or trade for a QB.

People Like to have a clear cut #1. But the clear cut best player in the draft i think everyone agrees is Calvin Johnson. But the Raiders have Randy Moss and Jerry porter and Ronald Curry at wide receiver. Currently At QB all they have is Andrew Walters. Russell out played Brady Quinn in the sugar bowl, and russell's stock has been raising ever since. His measurements make him an absolute freak. Also all the so called "draft experts" have tabbed Russel the #1 pick in most mock drafts, so the sheep will follow. I personally think the Raiders will sign David Carr, new coach Kiffen actually coached Carr in college so there is a familiarity there, clearing the way for the raiders to take Calvin #1. The raiders could also end up trading moss to the packers for Aaron Rodgers, although right now this deal looks dead, but could come back to life if Carr signs elsewhere, which would also clear the way for raiders to pick Calvin #1.

I know.... People are weird
This is what I would do......
Sell Moss for some decent linemen
Get Carr or draft Troy Smith (Second or third round) cuz they need a QB
and draft Calvin Johnson.....
Their D is above average with Sapp leading.......
Jerry Porter will have at least 900 yard season with Art Shell gone
Calvin Johnson will have about 1100 yard season...
THeir running game will be about 120 yards per game since they will improve their linemen

Quinn is a better QB, however he needs a line. Russell gives them their best chance right now, becuase the team stinks and he can run around and get free. In 4 or 5 years, he will be out of Oakland and they will be ready for a real QB.

Because the Raiders need a QB. If it was 80% of the other teams in the NFL they would be taking Calvin Johnson. Johnson is clearly the best player in the Draft this year but Raiders do not need another WR with no one to throw them the ball.....

Well the Raiders need a Franchise QB. Russell is better then Quinn. The Raiders have been checking out Russell in work outs and such. All signs point to he is who they want.

hes gonna be a bust, i have Calvin Jonson first, Joe Thomas second, and Jamarcus 3rd to the browns. I don't even think hes the best QB out there, i think thats Troy Smith, who people don't even consider anymore. THen Brady Quinn is second, and Third is Russel.

Because he is a freak. At quarterback he is the number one need for every team. Everyone needs a good quarter back and if a team (raiders) don't have one, then they should pick him up. He has an incredible arm. Can throw 60 yards from his knee. He is also fairly mobile and is near impossible to take down. He will be able to stand strong with the Raiders poor OLine.
They need him.

i dont know, but he is a quarterback, and people always think qbs should go first, and he had one of the strongest arms in a while,
i think brady quinn will have a better career, but jamarcus russell now is better
plus the raiders need a qb, more than a wr

Uhh, do you know anything about Pro football? He is a phenom and the best raw talent out there, hands down. Would you rather someone take Brady Quinn? Heh Heh Heh! I couldn't stomach another QB in the league named Brady. Unfortunately, we probably will, but as long as he isn't the No. 1 pick and he won't be. The Raiders will take J. Russell and be Super Bow contendars within a couple years. That is why J. Russell is the clear cut #1 pick. Start reading and bleeding football, like I do and maybe you won't ask more dumb football questions in the future. Heh Heh Heh..why is J. Russell the clear cut...that is a good one.
