What do you think for a Chevy 350 V8 4 bolt main with about 400 hp. Cam, high compression, ect., no smog, 7 qt pan, in a 43 Willy's. Should I use 10w 40 Mobil 1 or the 15w 40 Shell Rotella (has the anti-wear additives still in it)? Just thought I would ask, I am interested in the responses.

Rotella is designed for diesel engines. Use the Mobil 1.

If those were my only two options, I would choose Mobil 1... Why? Because Amsoil makes the additive package for the Mobil 1, so most of its protecting/cleaning factors are attributed to Amsoil. However, if available, I would just simply get and use Amsoil, it blows the rest away.

mobil 1 10W40 is thinner than 15W40 the w stands for winter in that equation so it will start easier on cool summer mornings when you want to........

10W40. It will get flowing faster in the cold and get in the tighter spaces better.
